The Missoula Breastfeeding Coalition is a public, nonprofit, group of community members and professionals, established in 2013. Our mission is to support, protect, and promote care for breastfeeding/chestfeeding and lactating families throughout the Missoula community. We are a resource for community members and for professionals. Our educational events include meetings, conferences and other collaborative outreach, to support human milk feeding as the cultural norm and promote care for lactating families.
Breastfeeding is much more than an infant suckling at the breast. We recognize and honor the many ways to breast- or chestfeed, and the diversity of experiences of lactating parents. We use ‘breastfeeding’ as a catchall term for lactating or feeding human milk, whatever the mode of delivery, the age of the child being fed, or the identity of the lactating person.
Missoula Breastfeeding Coalition meetings are open to community members, and to lactation and allied professionals. We meet the first Monday of each month.
Missoula Baby Bistro is a free, drop-in support group for parents, and meets every Tuesday from 10-11:30 am. Find more information about Missoula Baby Bistro.
